Forced PvP
Hi all,
The Issue:
Pvp in Aion is forced for lvl 56+. I would like to see it to become a player's choice to pvp or not pvp. In my opinion forced pvp on the open world map is an issue, especially in the new area Cygnea, because it makes it very challenging for the solo quester or gatherer to accomplish their gaming goals. I don't always like to quest or gather in a group because people move at their own pace and there can be loot issues. Also during the times I can play the game there are not usually that many friendly faction players on doing the same quests that I am so finding a group to do open world quests can be difficult.
An all too common occurrence:
The other day I was working on some dark blue coin quests on my lvl 62 Elyos chanter, TM server. My character was engaged with a mob, she was not at full life, when out pops an asmo from hide and smashes her. Since she was already dealing with a target she didn't have a chance to respond to the opposing player. A very dishonorable kill imo. They may have done it for a quest or just for the heck of it. Whatever the reason, it cost me time and frustration. This situation and others like it happen quite a bit for 56+. Another situation that happens frequently is being ganked by a large group as a solo player or small group. Trying to enter Besh Temple as a small 2-3 player exp group comes to mind....
Why forced pvp is annoying:
One reason I find forced pvp annoying is, it can cost me time depending on the method of resurrection. When my character is dead on the ground, I have one of two choices, if there are no friendly players around, Obelisk rez or use a self-revival stone. I do try to keep a supply of self-rez stones but unfortunately they have a long cool down. :/ I don't always like using the obelisk method because in the new areas like Cygnea binding to the Obelisk is expensive. It gets quite costly to change your binding point every time you go to a new questing area. Using the obelisk to rez can result in a long and costly walk/ teleport.
A second reason is because my character is not pvp geared yet. So in most run-ins with the opposing faction she does not have much of a chance.
A third reason I find forced pvp frustrating is because in my experience people usually don't do honest fights. They take advantage of lvl, gear, crowd control, numbers, anything to win. I can enjoy a “good fight” but I do not find it enjoyable to have my character 1-3 shot dead or Cced to death.
The fourth reason is there are some days after work that I am just not in the mood to pvp. I would like to do something relaxing like simple questing or gathering on those days without having to watch my character's back every minute on the world map. Since my character can no longer escape to the FTS, if I don't want to pvp at all on that day but still want to do questing or gathering I usually turn to other games where pvp is a choice.
Some solutions, ideas:
The following are some ideas to help pvp become the individual player's choice to do or not to do.
1. Extend the Fast-track server to lvl 65 to include the new areas that have a lot of quests and gatherables. I think this would separate players more though.
2. Create separate pve and pvp servers. I have played games where they have servers for open world pvp or the open world is pve only. In the pve servers there is still pvp but it is restricted to special zones or instances. This idea though wouldn't really follow the story line of Aion.
3. Create bigger areas that are pve only zones for gathering, questing. These areas would need to have decent rewarding quests and coin quests like the pvp open world has and the same gatherables as in the pvp maps. Some instances too.
4. Shorten the cool down of the self-revival stone.
5. Open world pvp off or on status/ buff. I like this idea the best. In one game I play, there is an NPC in the main city that players can talk to, to turn on open world pvp for their individual character or to turn it off. The pvp off or on status is displayed as an icon next to their name. When the pvp is turned off, opposing players cannot attack that player and that player cannot attack others. They can request a duel but it does not end in actual death. If Aion chose this option and made it available to all levels then even the FTS can be done away with. Pvp would become a player's choice.
To encourage people to choose to have pvp turned on, have events or quests that give special rewards for having it turned on for a certain amount of time or for having it on and engaging a certain number of opposing players. Both winners and losers get worth while rewards.
Concluding Thoughts:
I have so far enjoyed most of my time in Aion. This year I finally found a server and a legion I can be happy in and I got my first character to 50+. The thing I like the most about Aion is the phenomenal flight. Our characters can actually fly or glide with their wings. The wings are not just decoration like they are in some games I've played. I also like how the battle system is designed with the chain skills and the scenery in Aion is beautiful. I also like the chanter class. So far in my gaming experience I have not run across other melee priest classes. It is a different style of play from the typical range priest class and I have thoroughly enjoyed my chanter in pve and in instances.
So I'm not planning on leaving Aion yet but I do not play it as much as I could nor do I spend real life money on it due to the forced pvp issue. I only spend hard-earned real life money on games that I am very happy with. It takes players of all types to keep a game going: solo players, group players, pvers, and pvpers. I wish Aion did more to help appeal to their pver, solo population as well and not just focus on those who like to constantly pvp.
Thank you to all who read this and have a good one. :)

Fire Gleeful Ladder replied to xform and flight time
Greetings, Daeva, We understand your frustration and appreciate you reaching out to the community for help. Not receiving a verification email is a common issue that many players have encountered across various games. We’ve checked the forums and have a few potential fixes you can try. Hopefully, one of these will help you get into the game!
Possible Fixes for Verification Email Issue
Check Your Email Folders: This may seem obvious, but it's the most common solution. Please check your spam, junk, and other filtered folders. Sometimes, a legitimate email can be mistakenly flagged and sent there. Add Aion to Your Whitelist: To prevent future emails from being blocked, add the official Aion email address (often something like `noreply@aiononline.com` or an equivalent from NCSoft/Gameforge) to your email account's contact list or whitelist. This tells your email provider that you trust the sender. Try a Different Email Provider: Some email providers, particularly those like Hotmail, Outlook, or Live, are known to be overly aggressive with their spam filters. If you used one of these, consider creating a new account with a different provider, such as Gmail, and try the registration process again. Many players report better success with services like Gmail. Wait for the Email: Depending on server load and other factors, there can sometimes be a significant delay in receiving the verification email. In some cases, it may take several hours or even a full day to arrive. If you've just created your account, we recommend waiting a while longer before assuming it's a bug. Contact Aion Support Directly: If none of the above steps work, the best course of action is to contact the official Aion support team. They have the tools to manually verify your account or provide a direct solution. You can typically find a link to their support portal on the official game website. They will likely ask for your account name and the email address you used. We hope this information helps, and we look forward to seeing you in Atreia soon! Feel free to update us if you find a solution that works for you, as it may help other players with the same problem.
